ARCH1101 Project1-- Process Week 4 Sketchup Animation

The final version of my project 1.

The architecture is divided into 3 parts- Rolex studio(above), Showroom for both clients, Hazan Motoworks studio(below).

Main materials from the top of the architect is glass, and the concept is CIRCLE (N.) for the Rolex studio, the glass can gain much light from the outside in order to save more energy. The ground floor is showroom for both clients, so I put the objects that related to motocycle and watch, and use the glass screen to separate.

METAL was used in the floor that below the ground- Hazan Motoworks studio. The concept for this is CONTINUE(v.), so I use METAL as the main material and shape it in triangle in order to fit the motocycle's feature- Tough. This concept also reflects in the ground which combines the circle with the triangle glass.

Here is the hand drawings of the sections with the stairs and in brief materials introduction.

The 3 animations of the sketchup model.

1. View - Exterior

2. View- Interior& Exterior

3. Section- From Right to Left

ARCH1101 Project1-- Process Week 3- 2 Process

The changing design from last week did not fit the 3D conditions as well, it was improved a bit but not well enough. So I replace the above one with my second design architecture.

And then I combine it with the other part of the plan 1.

ARCH1101 Project1-- Process Week 1 -2

I went through the project outline again and improved my work a lot yesterday. I still need to consider it and change a bit for my next step study - Making Sketup models.

Client 1: Hazan Motorworks: Edge, Continue, Hard.

Client 2: Rolex: Circle, Run, Bright.

And I also made one Sketchup model to represent my work. Although I learn some basic and new skills in Sketchup in Youtube, I still find it hard to control, more practice will be needed:(.

ARCH1101 Project1-- Process Week 1

This week I spent some hours working on sketching my project 1 about 18 drawings, and turned two in to Sketchup Models. I found the ideas in the light source of the light in my own house and the shape of the things in the daily life.

Here are two examples of my work....
Because I just started to learn how to use Sketchup, i need to practice more about it in order to polish my works.

New Pics Post before classes

This is my first design project when I first came to UNSW Global foundation studies, which used two characters to represent 4 different design principles. From left to right, are "Focal point", "Scale", "Balance", and "Rhythm".

"Fallingwater" -Frank Lloyd Wright

Frank Lloyd Wright, one of the well-known American architects, he's building philosophy is based on the harmony between nature and architecture, which has been called Organic Architecture. The focus of his works emphasizes mankind's relationship with his environment. One of his most well-known works “Falling water” combined three natural independent elements in his design - rocks, water, and light, capturing in architecture a sight of people take an active part in organic life of the landscape and was considered as a lively, breathing house with perfect relationship of its interior and exterior design.

One of the beautiful pictures that I think, which was took in my hometown- Shenzhen by me. The contrast of the colors which is black and white makes a silent and spacious atmosphere.
